On this page, I have chosen to spotlight Kahoot!, which is an interactive quiz and survey tool.
When I created this Kahoot!, I used it as a survey tool. Kahoot! is an online tool where you can create quiz questions or a poll and push it out to your students. The questions show up on the front board and the answers are shown in front of each student on their tablet. Kahoot! also has a feature where it gives points to the students as they answer the questions based on the correct response and how quickly the students answer.
In this example, I incorporated “I can” statements provided by the county that align to the Common Core State Standards. These statements align with the objectives for each unit. I used this in my classroom to gauge how my students rated themselves on each of the skills we would be covering in the upcoming unit. I have also used Kahoot! as a quiz where we used it as a review for a math test. The students are very engaged when using this tool in the classroom. I also like the fact that it collects data for each of your students so you can go back and check individual students’ responses. I plan to continue to use this interactive tool in my classroom.
