On this page, I have chosen to spotlight the use of Flubaroo via Microsoft Excel.
Flubaroo is a grading system that you can set up through the use of Google Docs, which turns your data into an Excel spreadsheet. Flubaroo is accessible through Microsoft Excel under the “add-ons” tab. It allows you to input data from a Google Doc and organizes it in a way that is easily able to be read. All the teacher has to do is create the answer key, and Flubaroo does the rest for you.
I use Flubaroo often in my classroom when my students take a spelling test. I simply create a Google Doc, and I have my students type their words into the document. One nice thing about using Google Docs is that it does not tell the students when they misspell a word, which is why I choose to use this form for their spelling tests. I create a key by completing the test myself and using that option in the Flubaroo grading system. It grades all my students’ work according to the answer key. I can then take the data from the Excel spreadsheet and add it into my grade book through BCPS One. I am also given the average points earned on the specific assignment through the use of the "function" tool within Microsoft Excel.
